Office of the Vice President for Scholarly and Cultural Affairs

The Office of the Vice President for Scholarly and Cultural Affairs works in partnership with students and faculty, deans and chancellors, centers and institutes, museums and galleries, as well as with organizations across the state to strengthen and support scholarly, cultural, and civic programs and events at the University of Minnesota.

The office helps helps bring together students, faculty, and the community to deepen their engagement with the world’s greatest scholars, scientists, and thinkers, public figures and artists to address the most innovative ideas and challenging issues facing our world, in ways that advance creativity, innovative learning and research, and enrich the cultural and scholarly life of the University and the state of Minnesota.

The Vice President for Scholarly and Cultural Affairs is also responsible for leading the transformation of Northrop into an academic and cultural center of distinction that is a vital, state-of-the-art gathering place for students, faculty, and the community.
